i think questions like this are entirely pointless. because even if we knew the answer... would it really make a difference?

As far as I can tell, the universe always was and alsways will be. The Big Bang was simply the occurence that made life on our planet possible.
Also, I'm an atheist, so no I don't think the Big Bang was god. Although, from the view of the supporters of Intelligent Design, that's a pretty good theory.

Evolution is something that we all go through...
God is necessary for all this to be in order.
