K, I did a shutdown on my laptop for the whole night. I did defragmenter and disk clean up and my laptopp still wont play dvds. It says this Your computer is running low on memory. Quit other programs, and then try again. What do I do?

Get rid of games, music, and other programs that you never/seldomly use. If that doesn't work, I dont' know what to tell you.

Yes... the baseball forum is probably not the best place for this question.

You likely have more programs and services running in the background than you are aware of, and they are eating up memory.

This all depends on your version of Windows, PC configuration (how much RAM, vido memory, etc), and will require more details to really pinpoint the problem.

For starters, try typing in MSCONFIG on the "Run" button on the startup menu... go to the "Startup" tab and uncheck anything that doesn't need to be starting up at boot.

If you are unsure about something, leave it alone. If something goes wrong after making changes... come right back and change it back.

while system is booting, press and keep pressing escape until your systems bios config comes up. Go through and check the amount of memory is alloted and make sure it matches the amount of RAM your puter has in it. If you dont know, start with a low amount and work your way up. like 64 megs then 128 ect.
