i heard that you can write to random inmates in prison and i've always wanted to send a letter to one. Is there a way i can? Where do i go and stuff?

Why would you want to do such a thing? They're in prison for a reason. If you're THAT lonely, try writing to a few of our soldiers overseas. THEY would appreciate it and not try to use you for the wrong reasons.

I would be careful. Sending a letter or two is fine, but sometimes they write to many many women at the same time, and treat them like they are the "only friend they have", and ask for money....They do pretty well, when they have 10 different women sending them things. Common problem with inmates.
Send a letter, and don't put a return address.

You can get a penpal in prison through one of many online services. Go to google and search for "prison penpal".
However, be aware that many of the prisoners are just waiting for someone to write to add them to the list of people they plan to con. Are you prepared for the day they turn up on your doorstep and claim you as a friend, then ask for the loan of a few dollars.
Not a good idea.
You can become a volunteer prison visitor if you want, but you'll have to attend training and obey certain rules.

you can, but it is really not a great idea as some of these inmates get the wrong idea and think you are now their best friend.. then they end up finding out your address, phone number etc. It causes alot of unwanted problems

No, you'll need a name and booking number, unless you hooked with with church groups that go in there. Also alot of inmates run personal adds in the paper

I think you can write to people, but not random people. You probably have to know them.

Um where did you hear this, i never heard of this!! If you get to write to one don't be mean, he/she might be on death roll. Well i guess that they did something bad so i guess you could say whatever you want to!!
