I have no clue either, because I don't know your age. That means about how much you can afford. I also don't know your dad's likes and dislikes. Since you mentioned that you want to stocking staffer for your dad, I suggest something small, easy to fit in his stocking,DVD may be nice. If he is a business man, nice tie or,and tie pin. Or you can give him a framed photo. The picture must be the most memorable one in 06.

Small gifts, like to stuff in his stocking?
I love to put tiny bottles of designer-name colognes in stockings. A good tip is to buy a multipack (davidoff often has a set of 4 selling at Sears in California, I've seen Calvin Klien one's too) and put them in several stockings for others too!
Another cute idea is those holiday boxers. I know this may be lame for some people, but all designer's make them. I've seen single one's sold at Macy's from Polo and Ralph Lauren. But what I favor is the 3-packs that they sell at Target. I love those boxer sets!! Some aren't too holiday-ish, so it's not too corny.
A cd is a neutral idea too. There's fun holiday cd's out this season. But, if not holiday related, you can ask around about what album he'd like.
Trader Joes has some yummy-little packs of nuts, pistachios, coffee's, chocolates, and other goodies.
hope any of this helps.

It would be nice to know the approximate age of each but have you thought of adding a few memories for him? like, what you did for him while in school, something you did together, a memory of what he did to help you or just something you did together that was fun. Make a memory book out of all your fun memories together. Something he can look back on and smile over with good thoughts

What does he like to do???
If he likes fishing, some lures would be good.
If he's into computers, a flash drive is cool.
Does he like to cook? get an assortment of good spices.
If he likes to drink, get an adult to buy a small bottle of his fave booze.
Go to EBay & get a guitar pick from his fave band.
Good luck.
