Ask your teacher if you can make up the test and then give that test to her. But if you do have a make up test then study harder for that one!

You must determine what it will take to get a C, B or A grade. You cannot just plow your way to better grades. Some things have to shift. Usually things like, social life, television time, video games, romantic life. It is time and organization that increases your grade point average. There are books/ study guides on how to be a good student. Universities have courses with that title. Look in the reference section of the library or book store, ask for help selecting a book then read it and do all the exercises in it. You will have to reprioritaize you workspace. You will need a desk at home, proper reading light, earplugs, supplies like paper and a computer. If you don't have these, find a regular seat at the library and go everyday. It is said that it takes 2 hours of homework for every hour of class. So if you have math for one hour per day then that is 2 hours for homework...to fiqure out the problems, do them and recognize how you solved the problems. You might need a tutor. Ask for one at your school and then google "your town, math tutor, high school tutor" or whatever you need.
Many good students go home, shower, change clothes, eat a bit then do homework until dinner, working about 3 hours after dinner as well. Pack your backpack each night for the next day. Be early to school, perhaps helping out in the office. then get to all classes on time. You will feel better about yourself and your relationship with the teachers and you will therefore feel more inclined to ask questions in class, ask for help or have a teacher that wants to help you. You may have to change your reputation and the friends you once had might not be comfortable that you are changing. Just notice what they do but don't reveal that or how you are changing. They may put it down because they feel threatened. Keep it to yourself. Handle your business at school. Be on time, ask questions, do your homework. Take a phone book and look in the section that has a list of all job titles like dog groomer, dentist, etc. Take a highlighter and highlight anything that sounds interesting. Do not think about it too much or say to yourself that you don't have the training or education yet or don't have the money to do it. This exercise will help you determine what you are interested in or may be talented at. You will also see how many job titles there are out there. Take the highlighted list to a school counselor or your principal and ask what kind of classes you could take to succeed in life by being one of the things you highlighted. Tell your mom unless she is abusive. Ask a teacher to talk to her if that is the case. You are afraid because you do not want her to view you as a bad student who is going no where. If you want her to see you differently, you have to be different, and that takes a plan, not just words and promises. Time and organization is the plan. Organize your desk, backpack, time, questions. workflow.

You did bad, and deserve punishment. But if you show your mom how you feel and really do change to do well in school, it would turn out to be "love for everyone".
I do really well in school, A+ all the time. So...my advice is to look at school as a preparation for your future...Ask yourself, who would u want to become in the next 5 or 10 years?
Goodluck

Study harder next time. You got an F because of yourself. If you truly cared about what your mother thinks, you would show her the grade and tell her you are embarrased and will be studying harder in the future.

you live in USA dont you? i live in Puerto Rico, and here, theres a special day in october and march, where theres warning cards, its like report card, eccept that, i belive that in usa you get them and deliver it to mothers, here mothers have to go to school to get them, i just didnt tell my mom when was the day, so she didnt go, and i got and F to, eccept i got one in every class... ok, i got F in the whole class, F in math, F in chimestry, F in spanish (our language) F in computer (perfectly good explenation for that one) and F in history, i think i have A in english or B, and its not my language. things there are so diferent from here, you can walk the streets whenever you want to, you just have to do it before 9 pm if your 18 younger, but, you can leave school, you can go to fast foods, you can walk the school at 10 am and nobody tells you nothing, its like so use to that people enter, leave, walk around, inside and outside the school, even if your skkiping, you can even enter malls at school times, it could be 8 or 10 am or 1 pm, nobody tells you a thing, so thats y we have lots and lots of F, we skip a lot, we run in the school, to tell more, in christmas, in my school theres a student tradition where every day till class ends, we throw smoke balls to classroms, and ask me if someone ever catch us, sinse theres no air conditioner, the school is to the free air, anyway, my point is that we got a lots of F's and the other thing, the first semester of school dosnt count, august, september, october, november and december, are absolutly careles, all the notes teachers give in those months, dosnt count for the big note in may, but if the teacher says something in october and repeat in april and you didnt get in in oct, then your dead

You need to be honest and tell your mum. Tell her that you will work harder next year and if you are having trouble with schoolwork request a tutor during the holidays so that you can get better grade. That might appease her.
