Yes, because when you get older and have children and grand children, you want to protect them from the "liberal views" taking over. Also, when you know that you have less than 10-20 years left to live-you are TRYING to get into Heaven. Most of us don't want to make God mad!!

I don't think so. At my age (62) it appears that most people gain more moderate views as they age, as I did, regardless of whether conservative or liberal. We tend to go from idealism to pragmatism, as we discover idealistic solutions rarely work well in the real world if not tempered with ideas from opposing viewpoints. A sizable minority (or maybe a small majority) on all sides appear not to question their beliefs, which makes new learning impossible. We all see a lot of that here in the ones who rant & rave & insult those who express a different point of view. They can't seem to defend their position because they never truly examined it to discover what parts make sense. They are right & that is that.

Those who most believe they are right are the greatest danger to the rest of us, regardless from the right or the left. These are the ones who insist on making our decisions for us "for our own good." Examples are laws outlawing hate & bigoted speech (the left), dissent of the official view (currently, the right), & keeping government policy & actions secret (both sides)

It could happen. Depends on the what is happening in our world and how we view it at the time.

This also applies to the other way around. Today's Conservative is likely to become tomorrow's Liberal.

Conservatism is a result of long-term thinking and general intellegence. Liberalism is a result of just plain being stupid. I guess stupid people could potentially obtain intelligence, but then again, you can't fix stupid.

Only if they are corrupted. It's like saying todays christian is tomorrows sinner. Nobody roots for the sinner, but it turns out that way a lot, doesn't it?
