No, environmental conditions cause hibernation in bears, not just being a bear. There are many zoo bears who never hibernate. As long as resources are enough and the weather is warm enough, they will not hibernate. And female polar bears hibernate for awhile during gestation and birth of her cubs.

No. He'll be confused. But no, he won't hibernate. Polar bears don't hibernate.
