I was born in Salem Ohio and am trying to obtain a copy of my birth certificate. I called the office of vital statistics at the courthouse and they said it would be $21 for the certificate and $24 to mail. I think that this is a little ridiculous. Does anyone no of a less expensive more convenient method?

Yea this is being a pain in my rear! I leave for driving school on the 26th, I live in central Pa and was born in Ohio. I wish the school would have given me more time, or at least some warning about this. I'm sure most people don't have a copy of their birth certificate just laying around.
I could drive over there, but it would eat up most of a day. It's probably 200 miles one way. I'm also in the middle of moving 20 miles away. AND it's Christmas in a week!!!
When it rains it pores!
