When I put a game disc in it tryies to read it for a second and then a screen shows that says "To play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 console." I'm pretty sure it's not the disc because i've tried it with a few other discs (2 of them brand new) and it still doesnt work. I've also tried putting it horizontal and vertical... and that doesnt work. Help!

If it has happened with several discs, you may need to get your console replaced or fixed. Call 1-800-4MYXBOX for tech support.

Some of the xbox 360 with the Samsung drive has this problem. You can try shutdown the xbox 360 and turn it back on a few time to see if it works. The Samsung has trouble reading disc that were made in 2005. Newer games that came out in 2006 are fine. You can also call xbox tech support to see if there's a work around.

It is the 360 console. return and get a new one
