Well, the cube root is just the 1/3rd power. So you've got
(X^6 * Y^-4) ^ (1/3)...

X^6 ^ (1/3) = X^2
and Y ^ -4 ^ 1/3 = Y ^ (-4/3)

= X^2 * Y^(-4/3)
