YETI-

The yeti or Meh-Teh is a cryptid, and is associated with the Himalaya. The yeti or Meh-Teh is quite real to the people who live in the Himalaya (Charles Stonor reference), hence the terms yeti and Meh-Teh and is part of their history and mythology.

The term yeti is often used to describe a number of very different reported creatures:

- A large ape-like biped (that some suggest could be a Gigantopithecus)
- Human-sized bipedal apes (the Almas and the Chinese wildman)
- Dwarf-like creatures (such as the Orang Pendek).

The term is also often used to refer to reported ape-like creatures that fit any of these descriptions: for example, the fear liath may be referred to as the "Scottish yeti".

Most mainstream scientists and experts consider current evidence of the yeti's existence to be weak and better explained as hoax, legend, or misidentification of known species. Nevertheless, the yeti remains one of the most famous creatures of cryptozoology.

As per another account Yeti is-

abominable snowman or yeti (yĕt'ē) , humanlike creature so named because it is associated with the perpetual snow region of the Himalayas. A figure unknown except through tracks ascribed to it and through alleged encounters, it is described as being 6 to 8 ft (1.8 to 2.4 m) tall and covered with long, dark hair. Attempts after the 1950s to verify the authenticity of its tracks (notably by Sir Edmund Hillary in 1960) have yielded no conclusive results. Most scholars dismiss the existence of the creature. A somewhat similarly described creature of W North America is known as Bigfoot or Sasquatch.-

A yeti is a human-like mythological creature. They are said to be found in the Himalayas, or areas with arctic temperatures. A yeti has an ape-like face, a white fur covered body, and walks upright like humans. Yetis are said to have apposable thumbs like humans, and feet like humans.

Essentially, this is the "cold climate" version of the sasquatch (aka Bigfoot). Yetis are sometimes referred to as an abominable snowman. Bigfoot or sasquatch are more commonly associated with North America while Yeti are more commonly associated with Asia.

Take care.

It is like the Abominable Snowman. It's a creature, that some are not sure really still exists, if it ever did. And some believe it did and still does.

It's called by different names depending on where you are located, usually always near a very rural area.

And! It is half man-half ape, or ape-like creature.

If we ever find one, he will be the missing link on the evolutionary chain, and that would be very exciting!

There are places so remote man has never hardly been there.

And I don't know why people find that so hard to believe, those places have no exploitable resources, Thank God for that!

Sometimes I think any place that only has what we don't want is a lucky place.

A "yeti" is another name for a mysterious, ape-like creature that is sometimes spotted in the mountains of the Himalya range. It is the same type of creature as "Bigfoot" and "Schasquasch" of north American fame. There is actually some scientific evidence of the truth of these creatures, at least the north american version might actually be a great ape, as yet undiscovered in the trackless wilderness of some the mountains in Idaho, and Canada.

Known in English as "The Abominable Snowman", the yeti are meant to be tribes of ape-like 'men' who live in the Himalayas.
Nepalese and Tibetans swear they have seen them.
Local traditions vary as to whether they are good, bad or 'indifferent' - but the stories generally suggest they are timid of 'real' people.
"Descriptions" from "sightings" made by Westerners look a lot like similar "sightings" of "Sasquatch"/"Bigfoot" in North America. Supporters of the two claim they may be dying remnants of some type of primate, or even something like Neanderthal or Cro Magnon "Man", driven into hiding in deserted areas by the spread of we "Homo Sapiens".
