The DVD version comes on only one disc instead of like 4 or 5. The DVD version also installs quicker it costs a bit more. The game is exactly the same. Just make sure your computer is compatible with DVDs before buying cause obviously the DVD version is on a DVD CD format. I suggest buying the DVD version.

The Sims 2 DVD edition has only one disc, installs fast while the Sims 2 CD edition has four disc and takes longer. That's the only difference between the two, though if you're going to get the Sims 2 base game you want the one with Happy holidays on it because it has the extra content from the happy holiday stuff pack in it.

They're exactly the same game. The cd version is 4 discs, the dvd version is 1 disc.

Dude for 2500 you could get some top of the line ****. And spend the extra 1500 on a new flat screen. The i7 build is very popular, myself being one about to build one. Just find a good pc building guide and you'll be fine.
