It may be something easy or it may be something bad. The best thing to do is to take it back to the garage you bought it from and get them to check it out, better safe than sorry!

If it's dripping from the bottom of the engine, DON'T take it back to the shop!!! What will happen if you ride through the oil thats dripping? Have you ever ridden your bike on an ice rink? Phone the dealer and get them to pick it up. It's not only you to worry about either. what if your mates following?.

Check oil level, it may be overfilled. Especially if you have not changed the oil, the service shops often overfill when it is new. The leak is likely from the overflow tube.

Also, check the filter cover, it may have pinched the seal.

Its the overflow tube the bike was not level at all times and was tipped past a certian poit...this caused oil to enter the overflow tube....you say its new you therefore laid it down or tipped it over OR over filled it?

this happens to most bikes, it is a ploy to sell you a new oil catching carpet.
over the years I have owned many bikes both new and old and they all had the odd drip...............

tighten the bolt that you would drain your oil from not the hole u put oil into but the one underneath or on the side that you drain your oil from refer to your manual.
