There should be a light above the touch pad and if it is off then press it on and then the touch pad should work the button on my Packard bell is just a long slit, and not just a round button so try and press it and Im sure it will be BINGO!!!!!!

likelihood is theres something (crumb eg) stuck under the side of the touchpad. Look under the edges where the touchpad connects to the chassis of the laptop and if u see anything suspicious dig it out with a elogated paperclip or something

Most laptops have a disable touchpad button (usually near the On button) its possible you pressed that by accident (in which case press it again).

Heya,
Is windows recognising the device in the Device manager (see Control Panel --> System --> Hardware --> Device Manager).
If it is, there may be a conflict with other resources if you have recently installed other hardware. If not it is possible that it has just suffered hardware failure.
Sorry that I am unable to assist further with that.
Regards
Stuart

You may inadvertantly disabled it. There may be a hot link, eg, alt+F7, or something. Look through your help pages for the info. My laptop has a touchpad toggle and shows its status in the taskbar.

Is there a little button above it. If so, try pressing it. Mine stopped working, and all I had to do was push the button. Best of luck!

This happened to me last week. I went to
Control Panel - Mouse - Device settings - Reset devices.
That did the trick for me.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
