Just make an oppointment and see what happens. If you don't want your parents to know give a fake name. Tell them your parents work and can't be with you. If you have the money to pay for the apointment it should work.

In the UK you are a child until age 14 - when you legally become a "young person" and are permitted to make some decisions for yourself.
Ethically - If you ask your GP NOT to, I believe they are bound by the Hippocratic oath not to discuss your case with anyone else.

I think its 14 in the uk. With regards to the law, if you need any treatment without your parents knowledge, the doctor will have to say that you are competent to make that decision. In law I think its known as being "Gillick competent" after a court case taken by Mrs Gillick, who tried to stop her Gp from giving the contraceptive pill to girls under 16 without their parents knowledge. She lost the case.

For most things the legal age is 18. BUT I think and this is only think that if there were something being discussed like pregnancy or abortion that there is some guideline that will allow the doctor to at least see you without your parents.

Let's leave age out of this! If this is a problem you expect your parents to pay for or have their medical insurance policy to pay for = you should talk to your parents first!! I don't care how 'private' it is!
Besides...don't you think there are plenty of ways for a parent to learn of serious 'private' medical matters involving their children? If you think not, you need to think again. :))

If you're from the US., it's a personal or family decision. I don't know how other countries handle it.
