i have a friend that recently got married, her husband got an IM from a female friend that has not spoken to him for over two years.
Her husband did not tell his wife about her, just mentioned that they used to play games and that she was a decent lady to chat to.He got her e-mail address from the woman and she sent him an e-mail in the e-mail she asked if it was possilbe to buy her some cigarettes and send them to her.Now the wife knows about this and is upset that he went and bought them for her,as he can not afford them. The wife is thinking about telling the woman that she is not happy and wants her to butt out and stop asking her new husband for things and that he can not afford it.Can anyone out there give me some advice to pass on to my friend
Thanks for the advice.

Talking to the other women is not what she needs to do. Her husband is the one that needs to tell the women no, he is the one that should tell the women he is married. And leave this woman alone. This other women is probably more than just a friend. I don't know any man who would go out of his way to purchase cigarettes for a female just because she is an on line friend. Tell your friend to stop being so naive. If her husband is going to be a husband then he needs to be a man and tell this women the relationship is over. Don't blame the women, she is probably a single women and just trying to get through life. The man is the one who is married and he needs to take responsibility for his actions. And make a stand and tell this women he no longer is going to have a relationship with her because he is married. Good luck and God bless****

Sounds like he's open to a little fun on the side and testing the water.

A lot of these situations start innocent enough but quickly develop, he probably has had some online flirting with her previously and it's always nice when someone feels attracted to you married or not.

The wife needs to lay down the law to HIM, the fact this is going is is HIS fault and only he can put a stop to it.

Your friend is justified by her feelings. The husband should not be buying "gifts" for other women. Even though it was only cigarettes, that is sending signals. The husband should respect his relationship with his wife and stop all communication with the other woman.

How very odd! Why on earth is he buying this woman presents? Especially if he has no money.... I would suggest that she talks to him and discusses this matter. They may be able to solve it. If not I personally would not talk to this other woman! I would want my husband to understand how I feel and stop of his own volition not because I asked the other woman to butt out. They need to talk and sort this out - maybe there is an explanation.....

Hi honey (I'll talk to you as if you were your "friend", because you might well be.) You're right that buying gifts for another woman is crossing the marriage line, but I wouldn't tell your husband's other friend to butt out right away. She could be useful to you. Get in touch with her online, chat her as a friend. Tell her that you know how things are and you're trying to decide whether to be bugged about it. (There's a chance, remember, that he hasn't told his friend about you.) If there's trouble in your marriage, hubby could be telling her things he wouldn't tell you but that you should know. There's always time to close the door later, or to persuade hubby that he should close it himself. But find out what you can from her first.

Sounds like potential trouble to me. Maybe your friend should get in touch with the woman and just let her know. (Did he pay for the cigarettes and she not reimburse him!?).

The other woman's gonna pay for the fags though? So what does it matter.

tell her to sell the computer, then they'll have some money and he won't be able to go online to his 'friend'
