Learned this from the Hispanics out west for repairing carpet &
upholstery.Works quite well.
Get a new brass bristle brush from store like a builders supply.
Thoroughly brush & remove as much of the burned fibers as possible.
Search around your vehicle for an area that's out of site from
which you can cut a small piece of the carpet.(up under the dash,
under the seats, under the bottom door trim)
From this cut carpet, clip & save the fibers (big fuzz ball)
From an auto parts store you'll need a good grade of "auto trim
& upholstery cement,such as 3 M.
Spot the cleaned burn hole w/cement & spread around to the
edges.
Fill the hole w/the fibers from your "fuzz ball",pressing it in lightly.
Let dry & lightly brush out with a new soft bristle tooth brush.
I've used this method many times & it has always worked very
well for me.
LIST OF MAT'LS NEEDED:
1)brass bristle brush
2)soft bristle tooth brush
3)carpet swatch
4)good sharp scissors
5) 3M glue or an equivalent
I think that you will be pleased with the results.

if you're really handy with your hands you could scrape the burn bare or cut it out. replace it with a patch that you've cut out where it's least noticeable on the carpet.
of coarse you'll need a strong glue and a patch (under the carpet) to hold it in place.

Try getting a razor/knife/etc and cutting away at the burnt area to the un-burnt carpet underneath (if possible). There will be an obvious hole/supression in the carpet, but it should help camoflauge it.

The best thing I know to do is to go to a local autoparts store. Usually a store with accesories will have a patch kit. You can create a patch that actually matched the color of your interior and then it dries on the burn and covers it up.
Hope that helps, it has worked for me. :)
