Greetings,
There are no accounts of excessive cruelty for any of Columbus's expeditions. I'm sure the practice of habitual rape would have been documented somewhere. He also hung at least one seaman for the rape of a south American woman during one of his voyages.
Columbus treated the native people where ever he went much better then the peasants of Europe and much, much better then the explorers and conquerors to follow him did.
Times were harsh during the 14 and 15 hundreds.

Yes, he did rape Taino women and young girls. He sold them as sex slaves. There is much documentation on these atrocities. He did not do well in long term relationships in The old world. Besides his wife and his mistress, his other affair all involved relationships where he took advantage of them and did not commit to establishing a long term relationship. He was a charmer to young girls and the Queen. Actually he was also an *** to men also unless he felt he could use you to his advantage. He was a racist towards the Indians. He was not Jewish but had a soft heart for the men of the cloth and Jews. He was an embarrassment to his father and extended family. He was the black sheep of his family. His education and understanding was limited but he had a knowledge of wind and water currents that were ahead of his time. His brother Bartholomew was much smarter.
