Well I've been on birth control for a week, and earlier today I had sex with out a condom, but he pulled out. I'm just really paranoid right now, and I am just wondering if I shouldn't be worried, or if I should go get the day after pill?? Help!!!

You have to use condoms for the first month, by then its up to full effectiveness as long as you take it as prescribed..;

As far as I've ever been told, it is effective immediately. However, they also say it's a good idea to use condoms for the first week JUST to be on the safe side. It doesn't take your body a whole month to adjust to it.

It takes one month for the pill to be effective. If you got it from a doctor or clinic, they should have told you that, and if they they didn't, you should have asked. Also, if you change types of pills, be sure to ask if you need to use other protection for a month.

it doesn't matter/ always use a condom. pills do not safeguard you from std's.
