I assume you're on stage with normal hair before this happens? So presumably, you can't take a long time, wetting your curly hair and drying it wild.
Therefore, I'd suggest selectively teasing it with a comb and hair spray. This can be done fairly quickly to get the look.
After the show, have a bottle of leave-in spray conditioner on hand. This will help you comb the teasing back out of your hair without damaging it too much. Since teasing is essentially deliberating tangling your hair, you'll also have to be patient while you comb it out. Yanking at the tangles *will* damage your hair - breaking it and possibly tearing at the roots.

I would recommend teasing, and I've found a thin, soft brush works well for it. I was in a show playing a spirit tormenting the main character, and I teased my hair to high heaven, it looked like I had risen from 50 years in the grave. I would leave the ratting in for 3 days (yes, I would wash it, I just didn't bother with conditioner, because some of those days I had matinee and evening show every day) at a time, simply brush down the top with a soft brush and tie it back, and on the third day I would coat my hair with conditioner and tuck it inside of a shower cap for like an hour while watching TV, then I was able to brush it out fairly easily.

i could say do no longer brush it too plenty, or in case you could then attempt to stay away brushing the muse section, only brush the dimensions. do no longer touch your hair too plenty the two because it could make it greasier. Tie it up once you sleep (only unfastened) and attempt a diverse shampoo/conditioner combination for oily hair. All hair varieties are diverse so the shampoo you're making use of on the 2d won't be nicely suitable on your hair form, and the dry shampoos anyone is stating are great for oily roots yet do no longer use it for greater effective than a million day without washing it or your hair feels icky.

After washing it, let it dry upside down (you'll probably have to lie on your tummy and let your head hang over the edge of a bed if you air dry, or just hang your head upsdie down if you use a dryer).
After doing that, put lots of hairspray in it while it is still upside down. You might have to tease it some too. But lots of hairspray/gel is the key, i think

set your hair the night before in TINY TINY braids - when dry, lightly mist with hairspray. After the hairspray is dry, just lightly remove the braids - they will be zig-zag-gy and hold their shape fairly well with some more hairspray.
Be sure to use lots of conditioner in your hair before you try to rip a comb through it after the show!
Good luck with the play.
