No, although if you try to build a new barn, all your yuppie neighbours will surely claim otherwise.

No ... if you were a cattle rancher, then it would be different due to their methane emissions being much greater than most other animals.

Besides, you should look up other sources of global warming and give your teacher a better education on the subject. There have even been measured source of methane and other greenhouse gases noted from the large termite mounds in Africa (this was according to a college ecology class I took a little while ago).

If you're teacher says you are going to hell for that, but is pushing a stringent scientific viewpoint only, then how could he/she believe in hell to begin with?

Most Jewish and Muslim people don't eat pork because of hygienic reasons, but I don't think their scriptures claim you will go to hell for farming them. In reality, most religions that ban the raising of pigs do it for socioeconomic reasons that have then morphed into religious reasons.

Whether or not pigs cause global warming is still up for debate. The general consensus is that methane released by cows will far outweigh that released by pigs because of their size, overall higher population etc.

Also, if pigs cause global warming and we do enter an ice age, then I guess it won't be hell, unless you believe that hell will freeze over.
