1 hour standby? Fault.
1 hour talktime? Cost of being tiny and fancy with colour screen.

Could be either of 3 things
1. Faulty battery
2. could be you didn't put the battery on 1st charge long enough
some take up to 16 hrs to charge, mine on the other hand is Nokia N73 took 3 hours for the 1st charge and lasts for about 24 hours. It also depends what type of battery is in your phone, some of the modern phones only need a few hours 1st charge and often a lot lighter in weight.
3. Have you got anything switched on ie Bluetooth,or ur phone is set to connect to the net the minute you switch on? you should be able to set the length of time the backlight stays on for.

i used to have a toshiba, its in simple terms gonna worsen. yet while they say it lasts approximately 2.5 hours or maybe though, they recommend on the backside placing, like if its on yet thoroughly dimmed and in simple terms sitting there. they combat to maximise the outcomes to make the extra suitable look extra suitable than it extremely is. you're able to attempt to purchase a definite battery for an prolonged life, even though it is going to possibly set you returned some hundred, and toshibas are much less costly, so its stupid to purchase a battery that expenses like a 1 / 4 or a third of the cost. i might say choose for a different computing device.

When you get a new phone you are best to let it charge for at least 16 hours, overnight perhaps, even though the phone may say 'fully charged'. Also let your battery run flat at least once a month and fully charge it again rather than charging it every night or before it runs flat.

You may have a faulty battery or charger. Take it back to where you got it from and get it replaced or do a warranty repair which is free.
You can get cheap new phones from here. They are part of the carphonewarehouse group and very cheap.
