It's the everyday types of animals that have been selectively bred. Wild nature does not selectively breed. Only man has the ability to manipulate the animals around him, bending them, and shaping them, for his own desires and needs.

Any animal that man has allowed to live with him, and serve a purpose, has been selectively bred. Selective breeding led to the domestication of animals, and the only reason animals are domesticated is to make them the way that we want them to look like and act.

Cattle is a good example. The early cattle were wild and unpredictable. Over the years man has been selectively breeding cattle to make them docile, and "stupid", and easy to handle.

Other animals selectively bred includes, but are by no means exclusive are, cats, dogs, horses, sheep, pigs, goats, farm fowl, pet rodents, pet birds, (some but not all) pet reptiles, llama's and any of their kin kept by western man,..............................

To insure stable characteristics are handed on, stable wellbeing for an occasion, selective breeding is the only recourse. I even have Pit bulls and that i would not choose any of their characteristics replaced. Pits are a definite breed and hardly understood. Breed with something else and you threat dropping those particular characteristics. at times selective breeding is mandatory for particular consequences, those consequences being the wanted effect. yet, consistently interior the suitable pastimes of the animal first and suitable.
