Neither I'm 35, the party would be the better choice though. A designer purse will just be out of fashion soon anyway, if anyone really cares what brand your purse is they are morons who you don't need around. A party though will help you secure your place in the popularity pecking order.

Parties can make memories that last for years, but they can go bad.
Expensive gifts are awesome (I'd want a new gaming system like a Wii, or a digital camera), but they can get taken.....
Your call, but I'd personally rather have my Gift...if it wasn't a purse...

A gift is fine too.You can use it or wear it.
