Bamma wonder what you trying to say. Bamma think he just insulted. Bamma say why would gay person be stronger than Bamma. Bamma say why you putting him down. Bamma think you just being mean. Bamma say being gay doesn't make you superior. Bamma say get over it. Bamma say so.

I came out to myself when I was about 14. I feel like the same exact person now, as I was before I figured out I was gay. Because I am the same person.
Being gay does not "change" you, you don't become someone else, someone stronger or better or worse or different. It does come with a set of struggles somewhat unique, but everyone deals with some sort of "issues" in their lives.

You have a point, but as someone else mentioned, most people have some struggle to deal with in their life, so it's not the only factor. And it's how you deal with difficulties that make you the person you are, not the difficulties themselves - some people can become weak and self-pitying when faced with adversity, rather than overcoming it and becoming stronger.
But it can make you feel good about yourself to realise you can withstand other people's attitudes and not let it affect you, and it can also make you more sensitive to difficulties faced by other people.

I believe that it can tend to give you a thicker skin and let things roll of your back a little easier then most. I have a line from one of my poems that reads:
"Without the sticks without the stones, If not for the names
I should not have grown"
I think we learn many things from the ones that hate us but most of all we should learn to love them... As we grow up our views change and we mellow so, I am not sure if it makes us stronger but it surely makes us wiser.

I think that any person who has had to deal with pressure and problems with others during their life is a strong person if they can make it through.
Being GLTB by default makes you more likely to attract conflict and discrimination from others. Although it doesn't mean every GLTB person does.. So being gay doesn't not automatically make you a mentally stronger person. It just makes you more likely to be one..

Yes. It takes a lot of courage being a gay man in a straight man's world.

I think it does make you stronger cos you have to deal with people and try to express yourself always as there will always be people who are against homosexuality.

I know alot of gay people who are pretty thick-skinned and quite able to stick up for themselves. They've had to from years of dealing with crap.

sometimes it can...it depends on the person. I think being gay/lesbian in many cases at least makes you more open-minded and more sensitive to the world around you.

No more than being born to any minority makes you stronger....
Adversity brings out the best and worst, depending on the person.
