today I've been very sick. I haven't been able to keep anything down, not even pepto bismol, will this effect the birth control's effectiveness?

yeah, ok people are stupid. there is nothing wrong with being on birth control at 17 cause the normal people in the world know that there are other reason to be on it besides for sexual purposes. since they are small pills, try taking it with just a sip of water. they dissolve very quickly, so once it's dissolved, you should be ok. take it right after you throw up because you probably won't throw up again before it's dissolved.

YES, it can. If you took the pill and threw up shortly after, it may have come up if it was not fully dissolved and absorbed. I would use a backup method for the next week just to be sure.

I am also a bit offended at how people seem to be appalled that someone is on pills at 17. Quite a few kids are having sex far before 17! At least SHE is being responsible about it! So responsible, in fact, that she wants to make sure she is taking them correctly!

Good for you to think of asking this. :)

And believer, what she needs is some advice about her situation, not someone preaching at her. The words "some females" you chose are also odd and out of place- it is like you are referring to us as some foreign species.
There is nothing wrong with a woman being on the pill. I am married and on the pill, and my husband and I will choose when to have kids so we can give them a good life.

Yes people, she's 17, get the **** over it and answer the question. That's a perfectly reasonable age to be on BC and have sex. In a year she will be a legal adult.

To answer your question, yes it will affect the pill's effectiveness, so use a condom too until after your next period. You can start your period after missng a day too. Just be extra careful for a while, and take the rest of your pills AS SCHEDULED as soon as you are able to hold them down.

once you get over this by going to a doctor also tell him/her that you want to get on the birth control shot, because it's much better you only have to take once every three months and you wont feel so sick. the pills can cause cancer too

A missed pill will affect the reliability, use condoms until you start the next cycle of tablets. Please dont believe those who say it wont affect the effectiveness otherwise you could find yourself pregnant!..;

I was hoping you made your e-mail address available on your profile so I could e-mail you directly seeing as how my e-mail is not really an answer to your question. Regardless, please take a few minutes to read what I type out below. I know some females use birth control to help regulate their period; from what you said in your question though, this is not the case with you. I am not condemning you; but the Lord has a much more fulfilling life for you.

God's Purpose: Peace and Life
God loves you, and He wants you to experience peace and life--- life to the fullest and eternal.
The Bible says...
"We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Romans 5:1)
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16)
"I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it to the fullest" (John 10:10)
Why don't most people have this peace and full life that God planned for us to have?
The Problem: Our Separation
God created us in His own image to have life to the fullest. He did not make us as robots to automatically love and obey Him. God gave us a will and a freedom of choice.
We chose to disobey God and go our own sinful way. We still make this choice today. This results in separation from God.
The Bible says...
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23)
Our Attempts to Reach God
People have tried in many ways to bridge the gap between themselves and God. Some of the ways we try to bridge this gap are: good works, religion, philosophy, and morality.
The Bible says...
"There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death" (Proverbs 14:12)
"But your wicked deeds have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear" (Isaiah 59:2)
No bridge reaches God...except one.

God's Bridge: The Cross
Jesus Christ, God's only Son, died on the cross and rose from the grave. He paid the penalty for our sin and bridged the gap between God and people.
The Bible says...
"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus" (1st Timothy 2:5)
"For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God" (1st Peter 3:18)
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
God has provided the only way to Him...each of us must make a choice

Our Response: Receive Christ
We must trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and receive Him by personal invitation.
The Bible says...
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me" (Revelation 3:20)
"Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12)
"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9)

Will you receive Jesus Christ right now?
Here is how you can receive Christ:
1. Admit your need (I am a sinner.)
2. Change your attitude that you can save yourself. Change your attitude to the fact that only Christ can save you by what He did on the cross (Repent...means a change of mind or attitude)
3. Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you and rose from the grave.
4. Through prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come in and control your life through the Holy Spirit. (Receive Him as Lord and Savior)

How To Pray:
God, I know I am a sinner. I know my sin has earned me eternal separation from You. I believe Christ died in my place when He died on the cross. I accept His death as the full payment for my sin. I accept Him as my Savior. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen

God's Assurance: His Word
If you prayed this prayer from your heart,
the Bible says...
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13)
Did you sincerely ask Jesus Christ to come into your life? Where is He right now? What has He given you?
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith---and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God---not by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9)

The Bible says...
"He who has the Son has life: he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life" (1st John 5:12-13)
Receiving Christ, we are born into God's family through the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit who lives inside every believer. This is called salvation, regeneration, eternal life, or the new birth.

This could be the beginning of a wonderful new life in Christ. No, all your pain and trouble won't go away overnight. Give it time though. Follow the things I am advising you on below, and over time, you will see your life with Jesus grow, and you will see yourself change. God loves you. He cares for you. He can and will give you a happy life. To deepen this relationship you should:
1. Read your Bible every day to know Christ better. Start with the Gospel of John. Read at least a chapter a day. If you do not have a easy-to-understand version of the Bible it will be my pleasure to send you one absolutely free! Just give me your name & address and you will have a easy-to-understand Bible mailed to you tomorrow.

2. Talk to God in prayer every day
3. Tell others about Christ
4. Worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached
5. As Christ's representative in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others.

Christ is "the cure all", but He's not the immediate "cure all". He is the immediate Savior though. As I've said, give Him time to become the "cure-all". Follow the 5 steps for growth that I have outlined above. No matter what a person has gone through or is going through, if they don't have Christ in their life, that's the core of all their problems and hurts. IM or e-mail me anytime. I am here for you!
