I believe they, they're both words that came from a sound.

They can be, but they aren't always. you can say *sniff sniff* or *whimper* in a certain tone and it is an onomonopia, but you can also say, he whimpered, or she sniffed, and then it isn't.

Yes, I think so. They ARE kind of obscure though, aren't they? Not quite as obvious as "BANG!" But I've seen them used that way in illustrations before.

no. try something like "SWOOSH" "TTHHPPP" "Plop" "BAM" "Kerthunk", Whippetty" "VROOOM" "CRUNCH" "CLINK" "Chomp" and "Rununununununnnn". Onomatopoeia means words that make sounds. When you say one of those words it should sound like the noise you are talking about.
