Euthanasia means to assist in ones death by the administration of drugs or other means to hasten ones demise. To pull the plug means to end artificial means to keep a persons vital functions working and it returns that responsibility to the body. The latter is a more morally acceptable medical procedure at this time and not considered euthanasia.

A person in a coma has to have an EEG to look for brain activity, then 2 doctors have to agree that there is nothing else that can be done for them, that the only reason they are still alive is because of the machines. It is a kindness to turn off the machine at this point and put the person out of their misery.
