Euthanasia means to assist in ones death by the administration of drugs or other means to hasten ones demise. To pull the plug means to end artificial means to keep a persons vital functions working and it returns that responsibility to the body. The latter is a more morally acceptable medical procedure at this time and not considered euthanasia.

A person in a coma has to have an EEG to look for brain activity, then 2 doctors have to agree that there is nothing else that can be done for them, that the only reason they are still alive is because of the machines. It is a kindness to turn off the machine at this point and put the person out of their misery.

If someone is brain dead, please remove the vent, I was a hospice nurse 3 years, lots of people feel responsible for pulling the plug, but you are not doing the patient a favor

i think there are certain guidelines that they follow for puling the plug. i'm sure the person has to be legally brain dead first.
