For leather you're supposed to take it into the cleaners and they have a special process for leather.

You could try leather cleaner for shoes/boots and a brush about the stiffness of a toothbrush. Follow the instructions and it should clean up the collar as well as it works on boots.

Try a little vinegar and water and brush on with a old toothpaste brush or a suede brush. You may have to use just vinegar if the suede coat collar is very dirty. Good Luck!!
