I don't understand what you mean? Does your computer meet the system requirements of the game. If yes, just pop the CD in the drive, auto-run should pick up from there. If not...go to My Computer>Right Click on your CD drive and select explore. You're looking from a program that says Setup. Double click this and follow the onscreen instructions. If it doesn't work, the CD is busted. Microsoft and Sierra offer a one-time replacement policy...they'll replace the disk once, but you'll need to prove to them that you have the disc to begin with.

A few not-so-likely but reasonable things to check

While the disk/CD could be damaged and the game is broken (where the disk will not read or autorun at all and in which case you can usually order a replacement via company policy) , considering the game is probably new, I doubt this is the issue.

NOTE: THERE IS MOST LIKELY NO NEED TO BUY A BETTER COMPUTER TO MEET REQUIREMENTS (anyone who tells you this from a computer hardware outlet is likely running a hard sale). The only reason your computer would need new hardware 95% of the time is if the video card does not meet the requirements and, on a new computer, this is not likely.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
More than likely, though, your computer's configuration is the problem. First thing you should do is download the latest version of DirectX from www.microsoft.com/directx/ to help the game take full advantage of your video card.

Next try running the game's configuration utility and set the graphics settings low (16-bit color, low resolution IE 640 by 480, no funny options like trilinear filtering or motion blurring checked). This greatly increases the chance the game will run if your new PC does not have a high-line $200+ video card.

If neither of these options work go to your video card manufacturer's website (such as nvidia.com or ati.com). You can usually find the graphics card just by looking in your PC's user guide or, at worst, calling the people who sold you it and asking. Then download the drivers from the manufacturer's page for your card and run the installation files (these might ask you to reboot, if they do just reboot before trying your game).

If, after all this your game still won't run go to the game manufacturer's/company's page and look for PATCHES for the game. Download the latest patch for your game and install it...it will often fix bugs that stop games from running on certain graphics cards.

If you've done all the the above and the ------ thing still won't run chances are your PC either is not powerful enough to handle it or you have some nasty virus sucking up resources needed to run the game. In this case download AVG virus scanner free version (it's free and very good, not a trial version) and run it.

Best luck. :-)

Usually installing a game inserting the CD it should boot up automatically but if it doesn't open My Computer and click on the CD drive. If it still doesnt work that means that your game is not capable with that computer. Maybe not as in operating system but in graphics card, not enough memory. CHeck the box and call the retailer and ask questions.

If your computer meets the minimum requirements, then you should be able to run the setup.specs depending on which drive the game is on. It would help if you can provide which game you are trying to install along w/ your computer specs.

I'm not complete sure of the problem but try this
* make sure u fit the system requirments
* make sure the CD isn't damaged or any thing
* make sure the PC version (win 98 , win 2000 ect.) is up to game standards
* make sure the CD is specificly built for your PC(either mac or windows)
