Okay..thanks to all of you for answering part 1..but I have some add on info. Okay...in part I told you all that I am alomst 14 and haven't gotten my period, and you guys told me that that wasn't a problem. Here is my add on info...my grandma, mom, and big sister all got theirs when they were 11. And...for the last 3 years I have had a lot of that white discharge stuff....but still no period. Is that normal. Help again! Thanks :)

Yes; it's still fine. I answered your first question saying it's more genetic than anything, but there are other factors. 14 is still very much in the normal range to not have your period yet. You can have the discharge at any age; your period will probably start fairly soon, but again, it's nothing to worry about unless you hit 17 and still haven't started. I know at that age I was constantly scrutinizing myself worrying that I wasn't "normal"... and if you do happen to go to the doctor in the meantime, feel free to ask about your concerns... but it's nothing to make a seperate appointment for or anything. Oh and one more thing... I had cramps in my abdomen and lower back for a few days before my first period. It freaked me out b/c I didnt know what was about to happen... but that's normal too, so be prepared for it.

I was a *late bloomer* myself...well, at least my period was. I was wearing a bra in fifth grade but did not start my period until I was in highschool. It does seem strange and you feel as if you are falling behind everyone else...but never fear! Consider it luck that you havent started yet, because once you do you'll forever be saying "when will it stop!!!???" You will definately start it, especially since you've had that white discharge stuff. If you are uncomfortable bringing up the subject with a doctor then speak with the school nurse, your mom, an aunt, grandma, or a friend's mom or older sister. Sometimes just discussing these issues with someone in person can help ease your worries. I gurantee, everyone will say the same thing "you are perfectly normal."

you may be a late bloomer. I was 13 but both of my sisters were 11. they developed faster than I did. I say its normal but if it still bothers you have your mom take you to a gynocologist

Just be happy you haven't gotten it. Besides, getting it before age 12 can increase the risk of ovarian cancer.

I didn't get my period until I was almost 14, so don't worry. Once it comes you will hate it, so try to be happy that you have been spared so far!

discharge is completely normal. As long as the discharge doesn't smell funny or change the way it looks, you should be fine. If you are concerned, you should go see your doctor.

OK sorry I am a guy ,see a doctor I don't think you have a problem but peace of mind is worth the visit. Also a poor diet will stop menstruation.

every woman is different. don't worry about it. if u really get that worried though, you can ask ur mom about going to the gyno to get that checked out. but just remember every woman is different. i heard of someone who was 18 before they got theirs so don't worry.

Yes - it's completely normal. You'll start your period when your body is ready.
