My roommate has no clue that his two cats, which he keeps in his room, create so much stench that it stenches up the whole house! I made him change the litter box this morning, but the stench still lingers. I have been spraying Febreze odor killer like crazy, and I have 3 Glade candles going, but still the stench lingers.

How do I get rid of this stench within the next 2 hours, before my company comes? By the way, the smell isn't in the carpeting because we have only hardwood floors.

At some point litter boxes just need replaced. There are some nice looking ones with filters on the top. I would recommend trying a different litter if it isn't being changed often or sifted. He should clean the litter boxes every other month or so with bleach. Some people use those liners but I have a couple of cats who will tear those things up on purpose. And vinegar is a wonderful cleaner for cat odors. Mixed with hot water. If those boxes are nasty the cats are not going to use them. They will find another place to go and probably have. Believe me! Good luck.

White vinegar. Pour slightly on and rub it in, then sponge it up or blot with paper towels. The acetic acid within the vinegar will neutralize the enzyme within the urine. After the spot is dry, pour slightly bicarbonate of soda directly to the subject, rub in, permit it sit down for a few hours after which vacuum it up. Then, you must uncover out why your cat is peeing at the carpet as a substitute of the muddle field. You might want contemporary muddle, or a contemporary pan (if the pan is rather historical, the stink might disillusioned the cat) If the muddle field isn't the concern, you will have to take the cat to a vet as it'll have a kidney or hormonal concern. If it's not a bodily concern, then it's behavioural. If that is the case get again to me and I'll attempt to aid you additional.

give the floors a quick mop with HOT water and vinger also burn some clandles and keep the windows open just air the place out. use a fan as well. Also cats *male cats in particular* tend to spray so you may want to rinse the base of the walls with the hot vinager water. good luck. *ps i realise the cats didn't pee on the floor but sometimes woods hold scents also fabrics hold sents to fabreeze your fabic stuff ie drapes, couch, beds.* But i would think the open windows will hwlp the most.
