I'll control my own guns, thanks. That's the only way I feel safe. I am not a criminal. I am an American. I have a right to own as many guns as I d*amn well please.
I don't think they should take all of the guns away from the real AMRERICANS and let the criminals be the only ones to have them.

Reality time? Not one single gun control law now on the books has controlled a single gun. Any criminal that wants one can get one (and usually does). The crime rate went up (50%) in Australia when Parliament confiscated all guns in the hands of law abiding citizens (after a totally innocent registration scheme)... very embarrassing. Same for England, but in Baghdad where everybody and their dog has an AK-47, grenades, and an RPG, the street crime rate per capita (not counting military and insurgent actions) is half what it is in Washington DC, with it's draconian gun control laws.... (shhhh, that was censored by the Washington Post)
When are the Liberal limp wrist leg wetters going to get a clue?

I look to the areas where gun control advocates have had the most and greatest victories. Look at Chicago, and Washington D.C., as examples. In either city, if you are caught with a gun in your house, vehicle, or on your person, the gun will be taken away from you, you will never see it again, and you will probably have to serve some jail time. Both cities have as close to complete and total gun control as we have anyplace in the States.
Both cities also happen to consistently be on the top five most dangerous cities to live in, year after year.
In my own State of Florida, I have considered applying to become a Highway Patrolman. For my first year, they relocate me to anyplace of their choosing in the State. After that, I can put in a request to be transferred to whereever I wish to go. The pay is something like $33,000 per year, but if they place me in one of four named municipal localities, my pay will be a little more than $38,000 per year. If you look on the county-by-county voting map, you see that those four named municipalities are the brightest blue spots in my State. They have the strongest gun control policies. And they are the most dangerous parts of the State to live in, hence the higher pay for law enforcement officials there.
One thing that is inescapable is that where we let the good people have guns, the bad people are naturally in check, and law enforcement is less expensive. <--- note the period.
Where I live, in the panhandle of Florida, one in every fifty people has a concealed weapons permit. Even more people carry a concealed weapon who do not have the permit. And there are precious few robberies, burglaries, violent crimes, etc., etc., etc.
In my neighborhood, I have no clue which house I might be able to rob in confidence that I won't get shot by the dweller or by the dweller's neighbors. I know that if I were to try to rob the local convenience store, there are probably two or three guns in there, in the chip aisle, by the milk cooler, or on the hip of a woman purchasing cigarettes. And I know that would-be criminals know this as well. It frightens criminals, and it comforts me.
I also know that in Chicago or Washington D.C., I could probably rob any house that I chose in confidence that I would not be shot by the dweller or by neighbors. I know that I could try to hold up any convenience store that I wanted (although most in those areas are clever enough to surround the clerk with bulletproof glass - - why would you need that if you have complete gun control, anyway? The answer is that you need it BECAUSE you have complete gun control - we have none of that within 100 miles of me), and I am unlikely to get shot in the act. And, frighteningly, would-be criminals know this as well. And so more would-be criminals become actual criminals in Chicago and Washington D.C. than they do in the panhandle of Florida.
In fact, if I lived in the panhandle of Florida, and I wished to become a criminal, I might consider moving to Chicago or Washington D.C. There are probably many who have done precisely that. And I'm okay with their decision.
In Luke 11:21, Jesus says that when a strong man armed guards his palace, his goods are at peace.
How true that is.

They managed to take the guns away from Mexicans. Look where it got them. When you can disarm a citizenry, it's easy to control them, and heard them around like cattle. Not me, I shoot back.

I'm for background checks, and waiting periods, and banning certain guns (assault rifles).
But as long as you're not a criminal or insane, you should be able to own a gun.

We don't need them. How many times in your life have you ever had the need to shoot someone?
How many times in your life have you ever been so angry that if you'd had a weapon you would have used it?
