The question, or the answer to it, reminds me of ''Socrates and the Oracle of Delphi'' story. In short, the Oracle of Delphi claimed that Socrates was the wisest man on the face of the Earth. The Oracle was well-known for her clairvoyant abilities, and with her place of residence in Delphi (Greece), travellers from all over the world came to see her. When word spread, Socrates of course refused this claim; he actually believed that he was not wise at all... But with the reputation of the Oracle of Delphi outstanding his mere decline of her claim, Socrates set out on a life long journey to prove just how unwise he was. In the end, it turns out that Socrates' realization that he was unwise was the very reason that made him wise. Knowing how unwise he really was made him the wisest of all.
The same idea comes into play when answering this question. To be perfect... is to perfectly accept your imperfections as a human being. That's as close to perfect you will ever get.

We need nothing to be perfect, for nothing alone in the world is perfect. The philosophical argument for this is: if something is perfect then that something would be absolute in all qualities, so much so that nothing of such qualities will be left in the universe for anything else to exist – a thing of perfect beauty for example can only be one in the entire universe.
The second argument is that, for example, I can realise with my present sense of imperfection that I cannot be perfect in the world, or that I cannot have anything perfect in this world. For if there would be something so perfect then in comparison I would still be imperfect myself, vice versa. And by the principle of perfection itself, an imperfection cannot hold in its possession perfection.
All the notions of perfection reside in human mind only as powerful illusions. We can only have a subtle sense of perfection, but not perfection, and that in turn would be based upon our sense of imperfection - neither perfection, and nor imperfection is absolute. They both are relative in observation. If for example, we see two things, one thing better than the other, then we tend to think of a thing that is better than the both, even when it is impossible for such thing to exist.
On the other hand we can take a leave of absolutism and realise that everything in the world is perfect. I am perfect in the specific way I am. If I do not compare myself with other people then I realise that I am unique, there is no one like me, and therefore I am perfect in my own right. And that also proves that I would need nothing to be perfect.
Sense of perfection is in human mind can be obsessive and always causes dissatisfaction. We always seek for things that are better than all the things we already have. In the mind sense of imperfection that come with sense of perfection never goes away. It is through our acceptance of our perfection that we teach state of being whatever we are, or could ever be.
In our hearts however the affairs of things are different. In our hearts we need everything, and can have everything to be perfect. When we share our happiness even with a single person our happiness increases, it approaches to near perfection, and we know that we are happy. In human heart, in a state of contentment we can have a sense of having everything even when we have nothing and feel most profoundly what we really are.

Depends on your standard of what perfect is. If you take perfect to mean 100% O.K. With God, then we're all perfect all the time, because we're just as god made us and cannot be otherwise. If you take perfect to mean perfectly free of sin or error, well, we need to be dead.

We are perfect, even our imperfections are perfect for us to reach to be the greatest part of the greatest expression of who we are. Those that say perfection is impossible have forgotten how to dream themselves alive to all that they can be

If you spend every minute of your time to continuously pursue things that does not devalue with time. Then in some sense you are tending to perfection.

You must die to yourself and anything or everything you ever cared about concerning this world, i.e. (Family, friends, money, house, car, career and etc., etc., etc.
Then Jesus will be your life! Of course, that is if you believe in Jesus. That is if you have accepted him as your savior (also spelled "saviour"). Because it is Jesus who has the perfect life. No human can attain it by their own means.
Only Jesus.
As a voice from heaven declared ... "This is my son in him I am well pleased."
Through Jesus' Obedience to the will of His Father, He became perfect!

Everything. If there is any possibility of any criticism, anything lacking, however small, then perfection hasn't been attained.
