A Business major is one of the few majors I have seen where the school you come from is almost more important than what you know.

If you are looking to make a name for yourself, The Chicagoland area has 3 of the top 5 business schools in the nation (at least when I went to school for business in 2000). UIC, Northwestern, and DePaul University were all very highly ranked. The Wharton school of business was also way up there. I forget what school was the other one.

If you can afford the out of state tuition, I'd recommend researching one of the above schools. You can always go back to Alaska (though if you leave Alaska, you probably won't go back...there just isn't much there for well paying work and once you leave, you realize you have to go where the money is).

If you have to stay in Alaska...I'm not sure which is better to be honest. Check out the US News and World Report ratings.

You really need to research the schools more. Check out US new and world report for college rankings. I would visit each, and when there see dorms, visit profs and gust get an idea if you would like to go there. Deciding on colllege is a big deal. Do not take it lightly. Condiser location, big or small city, reputation of the school, cost, actitivies and lectures offered, courses offered you need or interested, how far from home? Answers to these questions are personal choices and there is no "best" school. You want to find one that will serve you what you need, and get the best package you can. Good luck with this life changing decision
