in itunes there should be a small arrow with a line under it this will right next to the little pictuer of an ipod click it and wiat for your ipod screen to stop showing the do not disconect picture then just pinch the sides of the cable that connect to the ipod then just pull it out

at the bottom right hand corner where the clock is... there is a green arrow (ASsuming you have windows)
double click on that..
then a box should come up, I think you press stop then another box will come up.. I think you click stop (or something else to the same effect) and then a speech bubble will come up where the clock is... saying.. SAFE TO REMOVE HARDWARE.
never disconnect without doing this you could lose everything on the iPod.. make sure the computer is on when the iPod is connected.

Open 'my computer' up, hover over the iPod icon and 'eject disc will come up in left hand pane.. click that, wait 10 secs, then remove the lead. merry christmas

pull on the cord so it comes out of where you plugged it in...duh... and anyways it has told me not do and i have but my ipod is fine
