Go management, with a minor in biology or pre-med or something. The reason is, more and more hospitals are being run like a business. So they need business people to run them (you know, MBAs and stuff). But business people know nothing about medicine! Wouldn't it be nice if the person running the hospital was a doctor with some knowledge of business? Just make sure to take the required courses to get into med school. (again, biology, etc.)

I know that medical schools aren't necessarily looking for "pre-med" students but you should be sure that you look at the classes required for admission; Most require 8-16 credits of chemistry (general & organic), 8 credits physics, 8-12 credits biology, 6+ credits college writing, some math classes ....etc....etc. A strong science background will also help you TREMENDOUSLY on the MCAT. Believe me, it's a lot harder to teach yourself physics and biochemistry than to have a professor teach it to you!
Maybe you could consider a science-based major and a business minor. However, if you are torn btwn the two I would definately say business. Try to take some HSM (Human Services Management) classes....these focus on the "behind the scenes" work at hospitals (budgeting, fundraising, organizational communication) and look great on a job application.
Also, you have to remember that when colleges say that they are looking for "well-rounded individuals" this is NOT always limited to academics. You might be an avid hiker, a middle-school montor, speak several languages, have traveled extensively....stuff like that. Involve yourself in any and everything that you can!

Good luck to you! Pediatrics is a very rewarding field of medicine!

Um, I wouldn't want a dr with a Communications degree treating my son's asthma... My brother in law has a degree in communications, and knows absolutely nothing about business OR science. All he knows how to do is talk... He's in seminary now to be a minister, after failing at every job he's ever taken. It's a lousy study path to base a medical career upon, and teaches nothing.
Go for a major in Biology, and a minor in small business management, non-profit management, psychology, or early childhood education... I don't care how a hospital is run, I think your first priority would have to be in knowing how the body works, grows, and thinks before figuring out how to run your practice. Kinda like putting the horse behind the cart, eh?

Business will be better, you need business experience anyways if you are a PMS student. I have been told people with Humanities majors do better on their GRE and MCAT! But if you are stuck between Business or Communications, I definately recommend you go with business! But if I were you, I would double major or minor in business, and major in Biology or of that sort.

I recommend probably developmental psychology or biology with a minor in business. Yes, business would be a good field to study for someone going into the medical practice, but the trend is towards a doctor being in a group practice to cut costs. However, it is also an idea to make sure you take courses in biology, physics, chemistry (organic and inorganic), Latin (but can be self study), foreign language (Spanish or Asian), expository writing, and calculus.

I definitely wouldn't want a business degree doctoring my child.
If you want to be a pediatrician, I would stay with something either child or science related, depending on what majors they have for you at your school. Maybe even try psychology, which incidentally has loads of very easy classes.
