First of all my daughter turned one last week and her ped. suggested the transition from formula to cows milk. She was on a milk based formula and ate foods with milk in them. I know the body can take some getting use to with this change but I don't believe I am "hurting" my child. I scaled back the ratio of formula to milk and will call my ped. in the morning. She was fine until we went 1/2 and 1/2(with the fussiness) she hasn't had a bm but I am giving her fruits and veggies to help with that. Thanks to those with supportive answers.

some children symply can't handle a lot of cows milk. If constipation and fussiness persist, you might want to switch her to goats milk or soya milk.

At times the transition from formula to milk can cause some gassiness and constipation. I think it is good you are giving fruits and veggies. If I were you I would stay at 1/2 1/2 for a few days until her body gets use to it. I would also give your baby some prune juice to help soften the stools.

well i would say no cows milk because your baby is not a cow's baby, cow's milk is for cows, human's milk is for humans. Plus since it is this way, why do you think cow's milk causes constapation, and people are lactose intolerant. Bad idea, when i was younger and was fed cow's milk products, i used to be sick all the time and have my nose clogged becuase of mucus and swelled glands in the nose, but once I totally stopped eating it (including any kind of animal products) i stopped being sick, no clogged nose, etc. Make sure you give her lot's of fruits and veggies, or put different things in front of her like crackers, fruits, or milk and see which one she will choose.

I think you did fine. As long as you're listening to the pediatrician, that's all that matters. I know I have heard recently of people weaning kids to cow's milk a bit before they actually turn 1.
