i posted a question, about a little girl i was concerned about, walking home from school alone, down dark country lanes, a long way to go, and made vulnerable. I have been taking her home in my car, she is my little girls best friend, and basically, i was worried about her, and she told me she is scared, walking alone, of someone grabbing her. I posted this, and was advised, as i wanted, but was a bit worried, to report to the school, about this girl being left to walk alone, in the dark, places, i would not even go, as a grown woman. I did this, was promised, annonymity, by the school, but they promised they would have to sort this out. On Friday, her father asked to speak to me, my heart sank, but he asked if i would take her to my house for 2 hours, until he was done with business, then he would collect her. I obliged, no problem, but now wonder, if the school have had a discreet word, and i should be so pleased i brought this up. And they kept me annonymous, should i stop worrying?

You have no reason to worry. Besides, even if this came out, the bottom line is that you only had and have the kid's best interest at heart, so thats a good thing, not bad, and any good parent would be grateful if things were brought to their attention. Perhaps a bit pissed off as it is basically implied that her parents are not as attentive as they should be, but they'd get over it. I wish there were more concerned people like yourself, perhaps our society wouldn't be as 'loose' as it is.

Well it´s nice of you to post again to tell us what happened, You did the right thing , I would have done the same. You are a kind person , & sure the father must know you don´t mind having his child in your house. Just one thing I would like to say , try not to make a habit of looking after her all the time, They, the parent´s have a duty & they should be more resposible for there own child. I´ts always nice to help out now & then, but there are limit´s to what we should & should´t do . you have no reson to worry. Merry Christmas

Not sure what you're saying at the end. But I DO believe you should have remained annonymous. Father making secure arrangements for his child is indeed a good thing you provoked.
However, not YOUR responsibility.
