The most important holiday in Russia is New Year, not Christmas so 'C novom godom' (happy new year) is most important, but 'C rozhdectvom' is happy christmas. Don't forget Russian Christmas is 7th January. Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) plays a similar part to our Santa Claus and is helped by Snegurochka (Snow Maiden), his granddaughter.
