No, psychologists do not have to go to medical school. It is the psychatrist who goes to medical school. A psychologist can get a masters and a doctoral (PhD) degrees. Specialties include school psychologist, counselor, clinical psychologist, neuropsychologist, sports psychologist, forensic psychologist, organizational psychologist, developmental psychologist, child psychologist, geropsychologist, and more.

Nope, you earn a BS or BA in Psychology, then depending on the school a Master's degree and/ or a PhD in Clinical Psychology. But not MED School...main reason why psychologist's cannot prescribe medicine.=)
