pads, tampons let all sort of chemicals get inside you if you keep them on too long.
besides, ever try digging one out when you've lost the string? not a fun thing :(

Tampons are great because nobody can tell if you are having your period at the time. They might be tricky at first, but it's worth the struggle. Once you get used to them, you can't even feel them and YOU might even forget you're on your period!

id say tampons are more comfortable but pads i think protect more against leaks because you can see when you need to change
