that we could or might have actually returned to the forefront of invention and ingenuity. The only thing America is great at anymore is weopon production and warfare. We should present ourselves to foreign nations as a hand ( military ) for hire. If Iran didnt have oil we wouldnt be invading them next.

That would be nice but we're all living in the real world. Alternative fuels will never get big until the oil runs out. It's because the oil companies are basically running the country.

Just what we needed more propaganda by a poser.

1) If the war is illegal why hasn't the international community stopped us?
2) If the war is illegal why hasn't the president's cabinet stopped him?
3) If the war is illegal why hasn't congress overruled the president?
4) If the war is illegal why hasn't anyone taken the case to the Supreme Court to stop it?
5) If the war is illegal why hasn't the military leaders simply disobeyed the president?

a) because the war isn't illegal
b) because legally it isn't a war. War must be declared for it to be a war, and only Congress can declare war. The president may not be able to declare war but he sure as hell can start one.
I know a war by any other name is still just a war but why split hairs?
c) deep down on a philosophical level everyone knows that the "war" is the only way to stop the terrorist. This BS about it only being about oil make me want to puke.

Get you head out of your fourth point of contact and use it for something other than a hat rack! And grow up.

You're clueless.

By your logic we should invade Canada next or Alaska because of the vast amount of oil there.

Industry in the US is leading the challenge of alternative fuels not the Government. The Government has very little to do with invention and ingenuity... never has. But the liberal mindset places the responsibility for everything on the government.

Your question is so very wrong on so many levels that I actually giggled a little when I read it. I just want to pat you on the head and say, "How cute".

Oh and.... learn to spell.

Who ever controls the spice controls the universe.
So I guess we'll just have to control them... won't we.
Yeah you're right we need to ween ourselves away from foreign dependents like oil and food crops.
But then they'll cry about how we don't buy from them and how they're all starving or something like that will come up.
You know what I mean? it's like no-mater what we do we can't win and people will get hurt.

I think it is important to keep our armed forces up to date and one of the most powerful, their are to many people that dislike us not to. But on the other hand I wish the government would get their priorities straight and realize that until we are only dependent on ourselves we will never truly be free.

The big corps won't let them. Big business is in control. And they want to run things the way they can either have the most power or give them the most $$$

It could but the war is not illegal since the democrats and republicans both voted for the war. This includes the likes of John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, and others. And there is no evidence to support the lie that the war is for oil.

As long as Republicans are in power, I can not imagine this.

There's a lot of things we could and should have done with those funds: alternative energy sources, put the social security funds back, enhanced medicare/medicaid, vamped up our schools, funded expanded border security, etc...

No. I could only imagine this scenario if our President and his cronies would not all directly benefit from the proliferation of the military-industrial complex (Haliburton, et al). Preach on bro!
