Each political party holds it's own convention for nominating their candidate for president. Delegates are selected from the party faithful.

The government is very centralized and becoming increasingly more so. Now how well tightly organized is a matter of conjecture. The entire process of government is totally politicized with each group lobbying for advantage of each one's agenda.

It's a wonder anything EVER gets accomplished. Yet with all of it's flaws Americans are convinced they still have the best system of government on the planet. And, compared with the rest we must be correct.

Republicans led from a mysterious dark tower...the Democrats from a committee of villagers....some people of the village follow the dark lord and do his bidding among the innocent below
