Limewire, morpheus or Ares. All of these download programs can be found at
www.download.com

All of the downloads from these websites will work on the ipod, they don't have to be downloaded solely from apple to work. Then just play them with itunes and you can drag the song from itunes to the ipod with a simple click of the mouse.

You need to download iTunes. www.apple.com

Then, if you want free music you need to download a program like Limewire or Kazaa or Bearshare. THIS IS ILLEGAL! This is called file sharing, where one person shares a file obtained legally with all the other people using the same software. AGAIN, IT'S ILLEGAL.

Once you have downloaded whatever you want you import it in to iTunes.

If you want to do it legally you can: rip your CDs into your iTunes (as long as you don't share these files, this is legal.) or you can down load songs from pay sites such as iTunes, Napster, etc.

To do it for free, just steal it from the artists who worked so hard to create something nice enough that you like to listen to it.

unless you use limewire.. you will have to pay... but remember.. limewire, kazaa, etc.. are illegal.. and i heard that only songs downloaded from apple.com work on the ipod... because it's an apple product and they have a block on it to prevent you from stealing music and using it..
