First of all, you should have started earlier.
You need to assemble the info you gathered into footnotes so your info is organized.
Then you need to write the essay, making sure to give credits to your sources at the end.

Because you are in a real hurry, I recommend following steps:
1
Chose some topic which already is familiar to you. Do not spend more than 10 minutes to chose it, just find it.
2
Give a name to your assay. It helps you to focus on it. 5 minutes for this task.
3
Collect references about the issue you have chosen. Books, net, whatever - but keep in mind to make a record of every document (name of the author, year of publication, title of the article and where it was published). 4...5 references may be enough in this very challenging fight against the time. Spend no more than 1-2 hours for this task.
4
Rest for a while (e.g. 30 min).
5
Read your references and distill the important items out of them. Do not copy long chapters, just pick the essential facts. Write them into your assay. Add the records of your documents into the last chapter "Literature"
6
Rest for a while again (e.g. 30 min).
7
Add your personal comments about the topic at the end of your assay (just before "Literature").
This all takes some hours and you'll be relatively tired tomorrow but you shall have an assay of your own! Good luck! Take some fresh air frequently, it helps you thinking.

Your essay is due tomorrow and you haven't even started it??? Forget "how to write a research paper", you're screwed. You have two options: 1) cheat, 2) bull$hit.
To do option 1, search research essay in the topic of your choice on the web. There are lots of sites out there. Get a credit card ready.
To do option 2, sit yourself down with an encyclopedia, or whatever reference book you have handy (maybe wikipedia?). Choose a topic you already know something about, preferably something that you have lots of books about. Organize your paper into parts. To figure out what kind of parts, think about the 5 W's: Who, What, When, Where, Why. Put in a few paragraphs about why this is important, and you're set! If you choose to go down this road, use more than one source (at least 4!), try to put it in your own words as much as possible, and get some coffee: you're in for a long night.

Go in with an outline and ask for an extension. Tell the truth no lame excuses. Even if it means the highest grade you can get for being late starts at B and not an A. You can not write most research papers in one day because they require research. You have not included a topic or length. You need to get to a library depending on a topic. Web search should only be a start. Learn how to write a bibliography and foot note quick.
