My husband is in the Navy and will come home on the 25th the airport is about an hour away from here so I we wanted to go out to eat and then go watch a movie. We wanted to eat somewhere semi nice with kids.

Watch the movie, "A CHRISTMAS STORY", and then go eat at a Chinese restaurant.
That's what the characters in the movie did, and they ordered the Peking duck.
You'll remember from the movie that the family was forced to eat out because the neighbor's hounds stole their Christmas turkey.
The Chinese restaurant was the only facility open.
"You'll put your eye out, kid!"

Your best bet is a hotel restaurant. All hotel restaurants will be open on Christmas Day, and most of them will offer a special Christmas menu (usually prix fixe) in addition to the regular menu. You need to call ahead and make reservations. It's also not unusual for the hotel restaurant to ask for a credit card to confirm the booking.

While I don't live in your area, my family always goes out to dinner on Christmas Day. I have found that most hotel restaurants are open because they have to be available for their guests. Some will have buffets and some will be regular sit-down dining. You should probably call around to check their hours. Have a wonderful holiday.

Yes, there are always restaurants opened on Christmas. If you live near any hotels the have to be opened for travelers. And sometimes the family places have good for for a good price.

I'm sure there will be restaurants open, but they'll probably close early, as far as the theater, i'm not sure. You'll probably be better off, renting movie's.

go to citysearch.com and enter you city/town and look around,then call and ask if the restaurant is open.
