Never tried maxing out my video iPod yet, but, with my 30GB, I've only converted about 6 videos so far which took up about 10GB.

Mind you that the size of the video would also depend on the video length and the software used and how it was converted.

A long movie like "Gone with the Wind" or "Lawrence of Arabia" may just take up the entire space since those movies are about 4-6 hours long.

A typical 2.5hr video, based on the better conversion quality I chose, took up about 2-3Gb.

Different conversion softwares convert and save files differently.

Also, the quality of the iPod video would also depend on whether or not you want the best video and sound quality upon conversion. The better the conversion quality, the bigger the file!

You must consider all these factors as well as the music files that's in the iPod which will also limited the storage capacity.

Best thing (and most tedious) to do is experiment with the conversions to fit your likings.
