There are many aspects of identity that you can look into. One that is very relevant to today is the issue of cultural identity. The UK is becoming more and more multicultural and you can look into issues surrounding the identity of the minorities, compared to that of indigenous people, and the conflict that surrounds this. This is a very thorough topic that you can look into involving issues such as nationalism (or national identity), positive rights, assimilation, the second/third generation immigrants identity crisis and racism.

hope this helps

Another consideration would be identity within a family,ie. When a woman has a husband and children, how is her identity affected, she is `mother` and `wife` But is she still `herself` or does her family identity take over? How does her husband see her, do her children see her as an individual or is she just Mum? Identity does not always have to be about race religion occupation.

Identity could mean for instance a young Asian or black person who are confused about their cultural background and history. You would collect all information through books and pass it on to them, also their cultural food, assist them to prepare and cook.Gather as much information as you can about their religion in order for them to learn and understand.
Identity is also about confidence and self- esteem.
Hope this bit helps.

All I can say is; do not confuse equality of identity, with the equality of opportunity.
