the handset is now useless as it has been blacklisted

apart from the slight mark on the screen which is not there anymore there was no other benefit and you commited fraud to achieve that, well then why stop there. Sell the handset on ebay, pretend you had no idea that the handset was barred and with the money buy you partner another phone

merry xmas

No once your phone is now reported stolen, it makes the phone useless. If you take it to a phone shop and if they do unblock your phone they are now committing an offence. which you can go to prison for. So really the only think to do is nw bin it as the phone is useless. The goverment had to act on the ammount of phones that were getting stolen, so they agread with the phone companys once a phone had been reported to make it useless

It is against the law now to get stolen phones reactivated. So it might be a bit difficult in finding someone to unblock it. Some phones cannot be unblocked in england but can be used abroad

First of all, you just admitted openly to an OVERT Act of FRAUD ... and I can assure you that if you do try to have this phone that you reported 'stolen' re-activated once again, that Vodaphone or its insurance partner can charge you with the CRIME .. and go after you for restitution ....

Once your phone has been reported as stolen the network provider puts a barr on the IMEI number, the details are accessible to all networks so becomes totally unusable.
It is highly illegal for anyone to change an IMEI number, no-one will do it for you.

To all the people saying take it to a shop/market stall - you are confusing unbarring with unlocking, they are 2 totally different things - unbarring is illegal, unlocking network providers is not.

You have lied and committed a crime and you expect to get advice from people who have to pay (in increased insurance rates) for your dishonesty!!! Forget it.
